Mayor's Welcome

Welcome To Blythe And The Palo Verde Valley

Blythe is a warm and friendly agricultural community located at one of the busiest entrance points to California which sees more than 8.5 million interstate travelers a year.

Blythe's three hundred and sixty days of sunshine (Winter temperatures range from 55 to 75 degrees, with average summer temperatures ranging from 85 to 110) provide a year round fun in the sun activities such as golfing, camping, hunting, fishing, dunebuggying, rock hounding and off-road exploring during the winter months, as well as boating, water-skiing and canoeing along almost ninety miles of navigable water the beautiful Colorado River provides.

Children of all ages enjoy the year-round activities which the City of Blythe helps to provide; such as tennis, racquetball, basketball, aerobics, as well as football, softball, soccer, and volleyball.  "Big Foot" Blythe's uniquely designed outdoor Skate Park, is enjoyed all year-round.

Popular events such as the Colorado River Music Festival, Jazz Festival, Cinco de Mayo, I-10 Speedway races, street festivals, softball tournaments, Christmas parade, 4th of July fireworks display, and many more civic community organizations' activities provide year-round entertainment for visitors and residents alike.

Blythe is a community on the verge of an economic "boom".  We have numerous subdivisions pending and numerous business opportunities.

Our recent beautification of our main street, Hobsonway, has greatly improved the appearance of our downtown corridor...with more to come!

We hope you will consider visiting and staying in our community.

 Joseph "Joey" DeConinck, Mayor
